The Queen Of The Double Singles (Fun facts about her Double A side releases)

I know that recently, artists have been releasing two songs at a time (i.e. Beyonce - Single Ladies/If I Were A Boy), but I don't remember anybody else doing it on such a consistent level aside from Toni.  Perhaps she is the trailblazer of that as well? She's had 6 in the U.S.!

You Mean The World To Me / Seven Whole Days (Live)

How Many Ways / I Belong To You (In addition, I Belong To You was also released as a maxi single)

You're Makin' Me High / Let It Flow

I Don't Want To / I Love Me Some Him,

Just Be A Man About It / Spanish Guitar (DVD single - which was the official format version of the U.S. single release of these two songs)

Make My Heart /Hands Tied

And here's some interesting trivia. There were some vinyl singles pressed up of another planned double single - Let Me Show You The Way (Out) / Give It Back, but very limited. There are a few copies for sale that sometimes pop up on Amazon and eBay and they were official promo releases.

Hey Erleevis. Actually, the songs I listed above were indeed promoted as double singles. Even the front covers had the songs billed equally. This can be verified on Wikipedia.Com, where they go much further into it. In some instances, one song was serviced stronger to one genre and vice versa. A perfect example of this is "I Don't Want To" , which was heavily serviced to Pop and Adult Contemporary Radio, while "I Love Me Some Him", was serviced to R&B and Urban radio. As for her actual B sides, those were not serviced to radio or intended to be singles, such as "Rewind" (B side of "Yesterday"), "I Hate You" (B side of "Trippin"), and "Always (B Side of "Hit The Freeway"). Here is an example from a Wikipedia entry:

    From WIKIPEDIA:

"How Many Ways" is a song by American R&B singer Toni Braxton from her self-titled debut album, Toni Braxton (1993). "How Many Ways" was double-sided with the album's fifth and final single, "I Belong to You", in the United States.

Make My Heart and Hands Tied are official singles. All the rest were singles that had B sides, not 2 different singles.

You could call her the queen of B sides. and add Yesterday / Rewind.
