More Publicity?

Hello,

This is my first time writing in this forum, but I felt the need to express something.  First and foremost, I am really impressed by the songs that I have heard thus far from the Pulse cd, I think it is going to be hot, well not let me reword that, it is hot. But I think that the key in other people who may not follow Toni as closely as us, they will need to see and experience this. I really feel that so far, I haven't been seeing Toni doing the talk shows, music shows, etc.. basically "publicity" for this album. This album has the potential to put her back at the top. I just hope that push the album, come up with some good videos, it would be nice to see some live performances of Toni where she is actually singing not lip singing. 

Do you all feel the same?

    I think the record label isn't quite sure how to market Toni (and I don't think this is just an Atlantic thing ... I believe it started with Arista and later Blackground- although her time at both of those labels had other problems as well.)

    The general public remembers Toni for her A/C stuff in the '90s, whereas her devoted fan base (i.e., yours truly) knows the range of musical styles she can so easily cover. Not to mention the fact that Toni is no longer 25, so she (allegedly) isn't as radio-friendly as a Beyonce or a Britney. (It's amazing the strides the television and film industries have made in featuring women over the age of 40 ... how funny the music industry is so far behind.)

    This presents a marketing problem for the label. If they book appearances for her on Oprah, she's reaching a traditionally middle-aged female demographic. If they feature her on morning shows like the Today Show or Good Morning America, she's reaching younger mothers and seniors. If she makes MTV appearances, she's reaching teens whom the label may feel she won't appeal to.

    I think her best bet is to hone in on big name spots that already have a built-in wide demographic, i.e. American Idol, Dancing With the Stars, or So You Think You Can Dance. (Plus, she's already got a history with Idol and DWTS.) You reach an enormous audience, and you get the now-thirtysomethings who remember Toni from the '90s, and the kids who are in high school and college today (and maybe pick up a few people on the fringes as well.)

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely I feel the same...every night I check to see if she will be on Jay Leno, Carson , and all other...even Oprah.... I mean seriously....CDs and songs do not sell on thier own she needs to be out doing the circuit and gettin git out there by now...

    I CAN'T STAND the radio stations in SOUTH FLORIDA they cater to all crapy music suck as Britney Spears, etc...and no love AT ALL to Toni ...that MAke my Heart song is incredible. Her Publicist needs to get her on th ephone or visiting stations like the ones in South Florida such as 99 JAMZ, 103.5 The BEAT , Power 96, Hot 105...I've sent emails to all these lame music producers and not one responded to me requesting her music be heard...what the heck! Seriously PUBLICIST of TONI BRAXTON ....lets get going ....start ADDING her to shows, sing sing promote !!!!!! les go!!!! Maybe I need to be hired to do this for Toni...she's only get 2 days rest ...it's time for another Grammy and it aint gonna happen alone or jus because.....promote!
