I am taken aback by Toni's beauty both inside and out (the former being so much more important than the latter). Her strength and dignified demeanor speaks much louder than her strong, but soft sultry voice. I have loved Toni since she first appeared on the scene. I rocked her fashion statements years ago. The play on masculinity overpowered by the uncanny sexuality of a beautiful black woman in a white collar shirt, (suspenders/my interpretation) suit and tie was so very appealing to me. I rocked it all. The natural short almost boyish Mia Farrow-like hair fit me like a glove and Toni made it ok to keep it short. After seeing the look on Toni, I realized that like her, my face didn't necessarily need the competition of sweeping locks to frame it. She was the BOMB without the frills. Long hair was an unnecessary accessory. Her smile her skin and "I got this" type of essence was unparalleled. And as we can all see today, she is STILL the -BIZZNESS-.
I love Toni and just feel that she is NOT getting all of the press, accolades and all that she deserves. I spoke about the beauty, but have not even touched on her talent. Her talent is indescribable. She is -THE TRUTH-. The girl has got it goin on with her sultry soprano tone and her bravado can barely be challenged by even the best. I'm young but I loved Anita baker and still do. When Toni came along I said "Hallelujah, get it girl." Many of these new chicks in the business, while I respect them for what they do, I must say that not many of them can stand next to Toni. I was upset at the fact that she would have to file dang on bankruptcy. That was a dag on shame. With her talent and beauty she should be right in the top whatever for earnings in her field as well as accolades.
The industry needs to get it together and focus on TALENT and beauty for this art. Bubble gum can have a nice taste, but I'd rather listen to something seasoned that nourishes/substance. How can any label say that she is not relevant? They should find another industry. HELP MAKE HER RELEVANT, she has EVERYTHING NEEDED. I WANT TO HEAR HER VOICE AND SEE HER FACE FOR MANY YEARS TO COME. Her body is on point and face exquisite, THE VOICE IS OUT OF REACH FOR MANY TO COMPETE. She seems to be a beautiful woman on the inside as well (and no she does not have to be a sweetheart all of the time 24/7, -I SAW THE DOCUMENTARY AND REALITY SHOW OF HER LIFE-lol-and like any woman deserves to let out her frustration and have a tude, but fundamentally she is a sweetie I can see).
