Hi, Toni. While watching your show I noticed you were tired a lot. I was shocked to hear you have Lupus. Then I thought to myself that it mad sense. I noticed by your body language that your body was tired. I have been living with LUPUS SLE for going on four years now. One year ago my heart stopped. I had to learn how to walk, talk, eat, and write again. I also have a kidney disease now. It got to the point where I had to start doing Chemo Theraphy. I'm doing better now. I just want to say you inspire me. There's days where I can barely get out my bed. Wow you get up on stage and still perform. May GOD continue to bless you in your health and all that you do.

Hi Toni, I love your new show. You are such a lovely and caring person. I have SLE and Graves disease, and could go into more detail in a personal message. Thank you for attending the 8th annual Lupus event, representing all of us battling the disease. I am a mom, too and it's quite a difficult disease. Hope you continue to fair well, I may see you at one of the events one day. Take care and don't stress if you can help it, it makes things worse. Lupus acts up more when I'm under stress. Thanks again, Toni..........tanya payne, tanyaisa

    Hey Toni,

I was shocked last night to hear your reveal that you have Lupus. I have been battling Lupus now for over 2 yrs. About 10 months ago, I was laid off, which means no income for the meds needed just to exist with SLE. Thank you so much for being strong enough to come forward regarding this horrific disease. The most important thing to understand about Lupus, that you can make plans today to go to lunch tomorrow and tomorrow comes, and there is no way that you have the strength to go. Please take a stance and educate the world on just how your whole world can be turned upside down in a matter of minutes talking to your physician. I am determined not to give into this disease. I have 2 precious grandsons, ages 3 & 5 that need their grandmother. If you can offer any words of wisdom or share websites that you have visited regarding Lupus, that would be awesome. Because of the severity of my disease, it has affected my heart, my lungs & my nervous system, trying to work a regular job is not possible, and because I have just turned 48, I am far too young for social security, besides the SSA has rejected me twice as being disable. There should be more help out there for people living with Lupus and there isn't. I haven't found a program that will assist w/ doctors visits, purchasing medicines. There is plenty of moral support groups, but because Lupus is a life long disease, who will assist us while we are battling to stay alive. We need a VOICE, we need someone who CARES and is in the same boat as we are! Thanks again for speaking out!

    Hi Toni,

There are two things the MOST that I admire you for and that is STRENGTH and DETERMINATION. Toni, you have never given up on anything because you are a fighter in GODS eyes and our eyes as well.

You are a very strong and willed person and because of your strength to keep moving forward has encourage and inspired me to pursue a career in Medicine to conduct research & find a cure for Lupus and all Medical Conditions. I did not know too much about Lupus, Autism, or even Heart Disease until you gave speeches on Lupus, Autism, and Heart Disease which has really sparked my interest in Medicine.

Thank you Ms. Braxton & May God Bless You and your Family!

Toni, my husband and I love your music, and we too are familiar with Lupus I suffer with it. For 25 years I have had it and have been inches from death 3 times. I admire your strength and courage to keep going no matter how hard it may be. One thing for sure Lupus makes us strong and determined. We wish you good luck on your upcoming tv show, and may you continue to be able to have strength to do the things you like to do. Right now I have been bed ridden for 4 years missed many family functions and had 4 transfusions but one thing is for certain my family and God are my strength, and I cherish them and hold them close every day. I do not take them for granted, and right now my husband is building me a home so I can be close to my children so they can help care for me.
If there is one thing I could offer you is that each day you wake up you thank God and your family and you hug your family and tell them how much you love them every day. I take great joy in the smell of a flower, may you too find joy in all that you can do. Cherish them, and never forget that Lupus may hold your body hostage but it never has hold on your spirit.
Good luck with your show, and all of your music endeavors. Cheers Sherry B
